Completed tail piece. You can't tell from the pics but it has a radius to the top, flat on bottom. Lookin good ! Topographic layout drawn onto spruce top. Ready to carve----Next.

looking at the bottom of the tail you ll notice the black epoxy rout ,this is where the string ground is.It will connect the brass around the strings with the stud and anchor and then thru the end block to the ground lug on the jack. notice in the 3rd pi

New Redtail floating ebony tail piece. laminated ebony and brass. Keyhole allows mounting with one stud. No violin cables or hinges. Also shown is my new topo carving blue print which will be transferred to the top allowing a uniform fair curved arch. St

The back is glued on.   Notice the spruce block near the tail block? it is the jack hole, like on an electric, there is a 7/8" hole which a gold electro jack socket and mono jack will be installed. Im also adding a small spruce block on the upper bout ,

February 09st, 2015  Today I worked out the jig for routing the key hole into the underside of the tail piece.This allows me to use a stud and anchor,instead of the traditional hinged or violin tail piece mount. Making the tail piece seem to float on th
